Those words exactly describe what all of us experience from the first moment we begin our life's journey,...and we never stop learning!
Vonnie Kohn is an internationally recognized artist with a rich heritage. As the daughter of a saddlemaker in the historical stockyards of Ft. Worth, Tx, Vonnie Kohn was accustomed early in life to the smell of leather, the jingling of spurs, and Stetson hats. This early exposure inspired a love for painting the American West. Her Native roots also contributed to her portrayals of Contemporary Native American life.
Vonnie Kohn's vita includes a BFA in fine art (Texas Wesleyan University), Sculptor in the lost-wax process of bronze casting, Workshop Instructor and Juror. She is also the recipient of numerous national awards. Extensive travel brings new inspirations the variety of her subject matter.
Statement:
"Whether in nature's open spaces or my studio, there is immense excitement when standing before that "special place of creative energy"..my easel. The smell of oils, the balance of unity, flowing lines, and color harmony all combine to spell "adventure." With every new adventure comes another moment of learning. In anticipation, "quivering brush" in hand, I feel much like a conductor poised before his orchestra!
